Goodrich Acheson life story Script
Edward Goodrich Acheson was born
in the year 1856 and was a great chemist/inventor for his time period. Edward
Acheson had a rough childhood. He was forced to drop out of school at the age
of 16 to help around the house, due to the death of his father. He had
committed all of his free time, as a kid, to experiment with electrical
science. In the year 1880 he had built a battery and even tried to sell it to
Thomas Edison. Edison then hires Acheson to help with his electrical and other
scientific experiments.
After about 4 years he left
Edison to become an independent inventor. In the year 1891 he obtained a power
plant company to help test his experiments. In the year 1894 he had created a
new adhesive called carborundum which is clay with carbon atoms altered into
it, and created The Carborundum Company. His company was known for creating
knife sharpeners, grind wheels, whet stones, and powdered abrasive. In the year
1901 he was fired from the presidency of his company due to his lack in using
money economically. He had a very loving and supportive family. He had his
loving wife Margret Acheson and seven children, named Edward Jr., George,
Howard, John, Jean, Margret Irene, and Sarah.
Finally in the year 1901 he passed
away. The Carborundum Company is still around it just has been sold and renamed
to many times to count. Even after his death we still use the carborundum bars
to sharpen knifes and swords, we still use grind wheels to sand and sharpen
large objects. I guess what I am trying to say is that even though he is dead
he is remembered and his legacy continues. He successfully patented about 70 different inventions of ores and other substances. Without these inventions the
industrial era might not have happened when it was supposed to we would not
have the technology we have today. This was my story of Edward Goodrich
Acheson's life.

Flickr Reveiw
I think the web site flickr is a great way for photographers to share their work with the public. It is also a fun way to connect with your friends and family. It is easy to upload photos and add photos to galleries. I think that the public domain has a positive effect on this site tho. For example people can see a photo they like, then visit that photographers site and purchase some for their own personal uses.

I.D Theft Power Point Response
I can not believe that I.D theft is the fastest growing crime in America! The other day we had Deputy Krupp come in and speak to my computers class. He showed us the different ways our I.D gets stolen and how to prevent it. He also taught us about online safety and not to give out are "ASL" (age, sex, location). People could use this information to find where you live and stalk you. I will continue to go online as always, just now I know somethings to look out for. I know not to click on links saying, "You have won a new iPad"! I now know to purchase items from the main site, this can reduce the chance of I.D theft and not to click on spam emails and entering any personal information. I found Deputy Krupp's power point to be useful, but most of the stuff he taught us seemed to be common sense.

MIT's Folding Car
The Massachusetts Institution of Technology has been working on a fold-able car! It is now being released in Europe now to test to see if the market fill succeed in this car. The electric car discussion is about to be pushed over the edge do to the invention of this car. The "Hiroko" will only take up about one third of the space compared to its gas powered counter part.
